When you say “Missions” most people will think “going overseas for the cause of Christ”. Unfortunately when we think of missions as, “over there,” we can overlook the needs on our own doorstep.
Jesus told us to "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere.” (Mark 16:15 NLT). It is our role to foster intentional relationships and opportunities to impact our world, locally and globally. We must realize everyday that we are on a mission to our unchurched friends and a world in need of Jesus.
As you look through our mission opportunities, open your heart to where God might be calling you to be used for His purposes. Expand your reach, move out of your comfort zone, broaden your vision and extend the love of Christ. By meeting peoples’ practical, everyday needs where they are at, we build relationships that are the foundation for sharing the love and salvation of Jesus.

Breakfast at Hilda Barg Homeless Shelter
Can you crack an egg? Can you flip a pancake? Can you fry up some bacon?
If the answer is yes, then God can use you here! CBC has committed to serving breakfast every 2nd Saturday at Hilda Barg.
Hilda Barg is a short-term shelter helping homeless adults develop individual plans that promote self-sufficient living. Shelter residents, homeless individuals and other community members in need can take advantage of Volunteers of America Chesapeake’s on-site programs, including mental health evaluation and counseling, drug and alcohol abuse prevention services, children's services, budget training, adult education and employment services.
Needed: 3-4 people for each breakfast (all ages)
Time: 7:30-9 AM, 2nd Saturday of each month
Cost: breakfast items and time

Time: 2nd Monday of each month

Homeless Camp Home Visits
Join us as we minister and fellowship with our brothers & sisters in the woods around us. Teams depart from the parking lot of El Charro's restaurant on Dale Boulevard. Be Jesus' hands and feet as you meet the practical needs of homeless men and women encamped in our immediate area. Live out your faith as you serve and be prepared to share your faith story with the people there as well.
New team members will be accompanied by seasoned team members who are known throughout the camps.
Needed: 2-6 adults per trip (men & women)
Time: 2 PM Saturday or 2:30 PM Sunday.
Cost: Time
Contact: CBC office at questions@cbc-woodbridge.org
In addition, we are always in need of non-perishable food items to give out to the homeless. Other items needed for this ministry: tents, sleeping bags, bug spray, batteries, long underwear, gallon jugs of water, small propane bottles, propane refills and outdoor cooking equipment. Donations may be left in the auditorium of the Family Life Center.
