A Missions-minded Church

Calvary Baptist Church (CBC) recognizes the role of the local church in fulfilling the Great Commission and devotes approximately 10% of the overall church budget to reaching the lost outside our local community through missionary suppport efforts.  Presently, CBC gives monthly assistance to 16 career missionaries and provides opportunities for individuals from the congregation to participate in various short term mission efforts and projects.

We have an active Missions Committee established to develop, coordinate, evaluate and administer the program in accordance with mission policy and in cooperation with our pastors, elders and congregation.

We recognize that every city and town in every nation, great or small, needs God's people proclaiming the salvation that only Christ provides.

 

 

Missions Vision Statement

The people of CBC are prayerfully and financially committed to pursuing the lost among the nations of the world.  We recognize our responsibilities as good stewards in presenting the gospel to an ever-changing world.  To maximize the efforts our local church, we principally direct our missionary support towards the most "unchurched" areas of the globe and focus our efforts on those countries outside of the United States that fall within the 10/40 Window.  Although this remains our primary objective, circumstances may require support to other cross-cultural missionary efforts in other localities. 

 

            What is the 10/40 Window?

The 10/40 Window is an area of the world that contains the largest population of non-Christians in the world.  The area extends from 10 degrees to 40 degrees latitude North of the Equator, and stretches from North Africa across to China.  Two-thirds of the world's population lives in the 10/40 Window.  Of those peoples, 90% are unevangelized, meaning they may never have heard the Gospel message or do not have a Christian community.

Only 4 - 8% of ALL missionaries work within the 10/40 Window.

                 Church Partnering                        

CBC has established a strategic mission partnership with a mission agency and a local church in Moldova to help fulfill our vision and provide extended opportunities for CBC to become closely involved in church planting and in the day-to-day discipleship of new converts in a foreign land.  Church partnering provides "hands-on" opportunity for involvement and brings together individuals and teams to meet specific tasks or project needs.

The local church in Moldova is postured both by location and language abilities to share the Gospel to unreached people groups in areas where US missionaries are unwelcome.  We appreciate the opportunity to assist this local church in sharing the Gospel and being a part of their ministry.
